Rafflesia is the easiest encounter in the Second Coil of Bahamut. Still the fight is pretty unforgiving (until we get echo). This short guide contains essential information on the encounter. Should be enough to not drag down a team of experienced sempais.

If you want to know more go and watch a guide from MTQcapture or MrHappy.

Fight has 3 phases. Below is a short break-down.

Phase 1

Tank pulls Raffy, party stacks behind her. Raffy cleaves so don't stay in front of her if not specified explicitly.

Rotation for Phase 1:
  1. Thorns. See shiny animation, check debuffs. If you've got one, break vines by running away from the person you're linked to and return back to stacking position.
  2. 3 New Dark Matter Bulbs. Check if there's a bulb in the middle and switch DPS on it if it's there. Tank rotates Raffy so newly spawned bulb is behind her. Compensate for the rotation.
  3. Thorns again. DON'T start breaking vines immediately on this one.
  4. Flower mark appears above one of players. If it's above you, move into a briar behind Raffy ASAP. If it's not, move in front of Raffy and break chains ASAP then stack on the current tank. Heel your pet.
  5. Flower mark disappears and Raffy rotates to the marked person.
  6. If marked person is not in a briar patch he get's stunned.
  7. Raffy starts sucking in a wide frontal cone. Anything in that cone that is not in a briar patch is moved towards her. It's ok to exit briar TO THE SIDE after that move.
  8. Raffy jumps and eats players that happen to be in front of her. Briar or not. Her reach for this move seems to be 1/2 of the arena's radius.
  9. Raffy starts casting spit. Second tank provokes her and moves to the side she's facing so party doesn't need to move to be stacked behind Raffy. Healers shield and precast aoe heals.
  10. (repeat)

This rotation repeats until Raffy is at 70% or below.

Phase 2:

Rotation is the same as P1 with two inclusions:
  1. Blighted Bouquet before each Dark Matter Bulbs spawn. Phase starts with it. While Blighted Bouquet is being casted don't move or even rotate your character, don't cast spells, don't use weaponskills or autoattack. Otherwise you will die when cast finishes.
  2. Honey Glazed debuff is placed on a randon DPS after every odd devour-spit combo. Person with Honey Glazed debuff MUST get eaten by raffy next devour-spit combo. While debuff is up, Dark Matter Hornets appear. These mobs should be killed ASAP, they take precedence over everything including center briar bulb.

At 40% fight transitions to the last phase. HOLD DPS if there's a honey-glazed person until debuff is cleared!

Phase 3:

Raffy loses all abilities except for Thorns.
Phase 3 has interesting mechanics but it's obsolete now with ilvl 100+ weapons. So just burn raffy, break thorns by running along diameter and share damage from Rotten Stench "laser".
